This page details the current worldwide German-speaking and ethnic German population in all countries and on all continents.  It includes the “official” German-speaking countries of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein as well as all other countries where Germans are in the minority.  Former colonial territories belonging to the German-speaking countries are also discussed.  Virtually all countries in the world have been linked to Germany via historical dynastic union.  Most noble families have German relations due to the fact that the old Roman Empire was replaced by Germanic States and the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation (which endured from A.D. 800 until 1806).  The German States were established by Germanic tribes, which in turn evolved into the modern countries of Europe.  Virtually all European (fair-haired and fair-skinned) peoples have a German genealogy.  The Romans used to refer to the Barbaric Germanic tribes as the “Blond people” due to the simple fact that all blond people at that time (up to the 5th century after Christ) were Germanic people.  This article has been online since 2010, and has received more than 1,205 page visits to date.  Thank you for your interest and for your visits!  Here is the link to the latest press release for my books on the German and the Austrian Navies (5 books thus far): http://www.prnewschannel.com/2012/01/24/complete-listing-of-every-german-naval-vessel-to-ever-sail-also-explores-importance-of-sea-born-trade-to-european-world-history/.  Endorsed by Captain George J. Albert, Jr. (of the California Center for Military History – part of the California National Guard) and recommended with a good review by Walter “Winn” Price of the Naval Historical Foundation (based in the Washington Navy Yard and part of the U.S. Navy) – with 21,620 “Likes” and “Shares” as of March 6, 2017: http://www.navyhistory.org/2013/08/book-review-the-german-and-the-austrian-navies-vol-i-and-ii/.  The two book series on the German-speaking navies has been read by more than 90,526 people in paperback format, e-book format and/or on my websites.
